After getting to try and fish my personal rod, Brian "had to" order identical RODgeeks X-Comp XC731 in Neon Blue (delivered at Christmas) and Dark Blue for light bottom fishing in Long Island Sound and Montauk. Featuring a softer tip section, these are a moderate blank with plenty of reserve power in the back, making it an excellent choice for targeting Fluke, Sea Bass, and Porgies with jigs and sinkers in the 1-5oz range.
This build features wave burl grips, polished Fuji reel seat, and polished Fuji Alconite K frame guides in a spiral wrap pattern. Simple black and silver wraps against the dark blue blank give the rod some character while still maintaining a clean look.
